Probably the most glamorous Idol Runner-up , Adam Lambert finally sets the record straight on his sexuality , his drug use , experience his parents & Idol , and Kris Allen being his type , Adam's candor is hilarious and very straightforward but I think its good to find that in someone though your typical Idol contestant he's a great guy and amazing artist, We love you Adam !! :) Read on for some quotes from the Issue on Newstands Tomorrow.
Adam On Coming Out : “I don’t think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I’m gay…. I’m proud of my sexuality. I embrace it. It’s just another part of me [But] I’m trying to be a singer not a civil rights leader.”
Adam On Realizing He Was Gay: “I started to realize I wasn’t like every other boy. I realized that we all have our own power, and that whatever I wanted to do, I had to make happen.”
Adam On His After Idol Experience: :”I was like, ‘I’m going to glue rhinestones on my eyelids, b—-!’ Right after the finale, I almost started talking about [being gay] to the reporters, but I thought, ‘I’m going to wait for Rolling Stone, that will be cooler.’ I didn’t want the Clay Aiken thing and the celebrity-magazine bulls—. I need to be able to explain myself in context… Clay Aiken’s gay, and I’m gay, and we couldn’t be more different. The only thing that is the same about everyone in the gay community is that we’re gay. … Why can’t we talk about a human community?”
Adam On Kris Allen Being His Type: (not that I can blame him) “They put me with the cute guy. Distracting! He’s the one guy I found attractive in the whole group on the show: nice, nonchalant, pretty and totally my type — except that he has a wife. I mean he’s open-minded and liberal, but he’s definitely 100% straight.”
Adam On When His Father caught him looking at gay pornography on the family computer at 13 : he turned to his wife and said, ‘It’s official.’ Later, Lambert’s mother asked if he had a girlfriend. He said no. She asked if he had a boyfriend. He said no. Then she asked if he wanted a boyfriend, to which Lambert replied “Yes, that would be nice.”
Adam On When He Tried Drugs For The First Time: At 21, during his six-month European tour of Hair. That was when he dyed his hair black. In Germany, he started smoking pot and tried Ecstasy. But he does have limits. Among his dislikes: cocaine.
