The Speech That Was Oscar-worthy

Though the Oscars were last Sunday I am still reeling from the show it truly was an ode back to old Hollywood and one of the best I have ever seen, and for me there was one speech that really touched me and will never forget. Dustin Lance Black , who won for Best Orginal Screenplay for Milk ( which told the story of Harvey Milk the first gay man to be elected into a political office in California, he later on in his career devoted his time to fight for egual rights for gays and lesbians), Lance's way of portraying the iconic character was impeccable ,and you could tell how much the story meant to him , being like many of us going through the struggles of being gay in a society that can be not as accepting as we'd like. Lance said in his winning speech ; "When I was 13-years-old, my beautiful mother and my father moved me from a conservative Mormon home in San Antonio, Texas to California, and I heard the story of Harvey Milk. And it gave me hope. It gave me the hope to live my life. It gave me the hope one day I could live my life openly as who I am and then maybe even I could even fall in love and one day get married.
“I wanna thank my mom, who has always loved me for who I am even when there was pressure not to. But most of all, if Harvey had not been taken from us 30 years ago, I think he’d want me to say to all of the gay and lesbian kids out there tonight who have been told that they are less than by their churches, by the government or by their families, that you are beautiful, wonderful creatures of value and that no matter what anyone tells you, God does love you and that very soon, I promise you, you will have equal rights federally, across this great nation of ours. Thank you. Thank you. And thank you, God, for giving us Harvey Milk.” His words moved me so much I have never been overwhelmed with so much emotion , he fully encapsulated all what myself and others as gay people need to hear, that we are beautiful no matter what anyone says , and we must always remember that.

The Idol Gods Have Shone Down On Me

It is Thursday after the results show and I am astonished on what I just witnessed , it seems that America agreed with me 100% on tonight's 3 to enter the Top 12, not did I imagine that I would get all 3 in , I'm so soooo happy right now , and I just want to give congratulations to the ones who showed they posses the real talent Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta , and Kris Allen they are my this season's favorites ( though David C. & David A. are in a league of their own in my mind love u guys) anywho back to the topic it seemed they did find "Satisfaction" in Lambert's performance and saw "The Man in The Mirror" for who he really was in Allen's , and were able to see Iraheta stand "Alone" in her moment to shine. The 3 will battle it out with the other Top 12ers Danny Gokey, Alexis Grace and Michael Sarver , and the show will round out the 12 next week with the wildcard round , in which the judges will bring back contestants who they think are worthy of a second chance , my recommendations for this week either Mishavonna Henson or Jasmine Murray ,who were such sweethearts and have amazing vocals, it was hard to see them go , I'm still having trouble coping with the new voting system , it really irks me , but as for last weeks pick I'm for Anoop all the way I still don't understand why he isn't already in the Top 12. And finally it was a sweet moment when Idol's little ray of sunshine Brooke White stopped by to perform her single "Hold Up My Heart", I always love seeing the past Idols come back it brings back such fond memories:) Don't forget to catch Idol next Tuesday when contestants like Taylor Vaifanua and the ever emotional wreck Nathaniel Marshall will duke it out in the final spots in the Top 12 !

Our Girl Brooke Is Back

Season 7 - sweetheart Brooke White , has dropped her single "Hold Up My Heart", the Arizona native took some time off after the Idols summer tour , to do some songwriting in Nashville , with husband Dave , Brookie is also going to perform her single on Idol tonight , and be sure to buy Brooke's single available on Itunes!

Idol Performance Recap

Here are some of the top performance's from last night's Idol , in my opnion at least , I stayed up half the night voting for these guy's ,but who needs sleep anyway , We'll see if America agreed , tune in tonight to see the next group of 3 make the Top 12 @ 8/7c only on FOX!

Idol Produces "Ups" & "Downs"

Ok, so tonight's Idol started out with probably some of the worst performances , almost making me give up on the singing competition, but after the commercial break and performance from hell by Nick Mitchell aka Normund Gentle , the show actually turned into a singing competition as it should be by one of my faves 16 year old Allison Iraheta , who sang "Alone" by Heart and blew the crowd away with her powerful vocal reminiscent of Kelly Clarkson , another standout to me , but I'm partial since he's so adorable was Kris Allen ,who performed "Man In The Mirror" by Michael Jackson , he showed who he really was and seeing him have fun up there was so great ,and his voice impeccable (almost as good his smile:) , and of course my golden boy , I know i play favorites too much , Adam Lambert representing all of us in Hollywood , and I got more than a little "Satisfaction" from his performance , Lambert performed the hit by the Rolling Stones , and rocked the whole entire studio with his powerful vocals getting rave reviews by Randy , Kara and Paula saying " It's like I'm not watching American Idol anymore it's like I'm watching an Adam Lambert concert " said Abdul . So tell what you guy's view on the show was and it's not too late to vote you have til midnight. So here are the numbers for Adam 5712 , Allison 5705, Kris 5706 ,Mishavonna 5711, that's right those are the only one's I'm letting u vote for lol, and be sure to watch the results tomorrow only on FOX !! And keep your fingers crossed :)
P.S. - Did anyone else catch Randy's comparison of Adam to Robert Pattinson , and it seems Mr. Lambert is also a fan of the Twilight saga, so twilighters I'm just saying ,but don't u think u should vote for fellow fans:)

Miley Cyrus : The Climb

Ok , I will not fight it anymore I am an official Miley Cyrus fan, the 16 year old takes a break from boy-hating tunes like "7 Things" & "Fly On The Wall", to give us a little inspiration and uplift us through hurdles we all go through in life , like the song says "there's always gonna be another mountain; always gonna wanna make it move" you go Miley. And just remember you can make it past that mountain to get to the other side where a new world bigger and better awaits you. Enjoy , Ian Song Off The Hannah Montana Movie Sountrack available March 24

Is Idol Season 8 A Snooze?

Now , I don't know if I'm playing favorites since I have dearly loved and befriended the last two season's contestants , but I was so bored Tuesday when Idol was being filmed I mean , nothing was special no one that stood out to me as the next Idol , no great renditions, like Lionel Richie's "Hello" covered by Cook , or Christina Aguilera's "Reflection" by Jordin Sparks , or "Shop Around" covered by Archuleta last year , or "I Drove All Night" by Celine Dion covered by Carly last season, Rascal Flatts "God Bless the Broken Road" by Carrie Underwood" , "All Mixed Up" by 311 covered by Blake Lewis, I mean these are just to name a few past performers over the last 7 seasons that made them really stand out and deserve to be there, and Tuesday's show was kind of like a high school talent show, but I can't say all is bad since this was the first set of 12 and I do have to admit that Alexis Grace and Danny Gokey were two of the top performances of the night also Anoop Desai who did not make the Top 12 with Alexis and Danny ,but still has the hopes for the judges Wildcard round on March 5 , since they will pick 3 contestants who deserve to round out the Top 12, long-time Idol fans can remember this method in Season 1 & 2 . The results show last night was only enjoyable when I got to see our Idol alum Carly & Michael , I was so excited I had no idea they were gonna be there, and there performance amazing , ( and check back 2morrow for info on Michael's album.) . I still though have hope for next week when more of the contestants I like perform my faves Kris Allen , Jasmine Murray and Adam Lambert , please please please vote for them next week with the odds being less this year they need all the help they can get , so I am enlisting all that I can. I'm a man on a mission lol :)

Archie Has The Best Of Both Worlds

Our little Archie, is hiting the TV screen as you may have heard , he will appear on an episode of Hannah Montana which was filmed Tuesday when he arrived here back in LA from Utah , he will just be doing another guest appearance as he did on iCarly and rumors are a duet with David and Miley , I can't confirm it ,but I'm sure some fans would find it we'll say amusing. And since I didn't post them last week here is some video from the American Idol Experience last Thursday is was amazing , it was like a huge Idol Family reunion!

And just a little tidbit Jordin & Fantasia were talking through 3 of the pictures which cut out Davids face so they had to redo the pics
Vids - thanks to the wonderful cameramen @ attractionsmagazine.com they were so cooperable and respectful thank you again.

David's Vacation Blog

David checked in on his vacation , to blog on everything from the Grammys to his Pro Bowl read it below and congrats to iCarly's Saturday episode which co-starred Archie , the show pulled in 5.2 million viewers with the teen demographic , and check out the video of David singing "Stand By Me" @ the Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaii :)

Aloha! I’m here in sunny Hawaii, and it’s so nice here. I sang at the Pro Bowl yesterday, and that was way cool. Enrique Iglesias and Ciara sang during the halftime, and that was fun to watch because we got to watch from the field. I didn’t get a chance to talk to Ciara, but Enrique was a cool guy.
He’s tall though! I didn’t realize how tall he was. He’s 6 ft. 2 in. haha. But anyway, the day before the Pro Bowl performance I sang at Ohana Day where people can watch the players practice. I sang A Little Too Not Over You, and it went well.
Today we’re going to try and look around the island and be tourists haha. It’s so beautiful here, and I forgot how much I miss hot humid weather. It’s been a long time since I haven’t worn a scarf and jacket, because even last year during spring and summer we were always inside cold studios or arenas.
Oh you know what’s funny is while I was in the LAX airport for my layover, I ran into Cook and his gang. We were in the same gate area haha. Only he was headed to Florida, and I was leaving Florida.
So before we went to Hawaii, I was in Florida doing promo.
What was shocking is how cold it was there! I didn’t think I’d have to wear a jacket and scarf there, but it felt like Utah weather at some points. It was really fun traveling around though, and I got to see my family when we were in Central Florida. I also got to visit a Children’s Hospital in Daytona Beach, that they called Speediatrics haha.
It was really neat. But I’ll be heading back to Florida after Hawaii for the Disney thing this week, so I’m excited! I’ve been trying to not adjust to Hawaiian time, because I’m already in the Florida time zone mode lol. But I can’t wait for the Disney thing!
This Saturday they showed the iCarly episode on Nickelodeon, so for those of you who watched it I hope you had fun! I had so much fun hanging with Miranda. Don’t forget to watch this weekend too! I’ll be performing A Little Too Not Over You this Saturday on Nickelodeon, so fun stuff. haha.
All right, so before I close here, I just wanted to talk about the Grammy Awards! They were on the same day as the Pro Bowl, so I was keeping a little too busy to be able to watch it. But I had friends that were keeping me updated on what was going on haha.
First off, I’d just like to congratulate all the winners and their successes. I was so excited to hear Adele won 2 Grammys for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance! She is truly amazing, and I’m so happy that she has gotten some more recognition for the quality of her music. It’s sooo good.
Well anyway, I better head out and get started with seeing more of Hawaii. I’ll talk to you guys later and let you know how things went this week!
Song for the day: Right As Rain – Adele
Sorry for having Adele again so soon, but this song rocks and she had a big night last night haha. Brooke White was actually the person who introduced this song to me a while back, and inspired my love for Adele’s stuff haha. Go Brooke!! If you haven’t heard Chasing Pavements by Adele yet though, you should check that out too.

Idol Hopefuls

Idol had some of the contestants film little introdutions about themselves, so here are a few of my favorites :)

Taylor Swift "White Horse"

The second single off Taylor's album fearless , is what happens when the "Love Story" doesn't go as planned the video co-stars Laguna Beach alum Stephen Colletti , the video is beautifully shot and gives the real sense of emotion thanks to director Trey Fanjoy and of course Taylor.
Check it out :)

The 51st Annual Grammy Awards

Music's biggest night was last night and it proved to live up to its name pulling in over 19 Million viewers , probably thanks to performers like Katy Perry , Carrie Underwood , The Jonas Brothers & Stevie Wonders renditions of "Burnin Up" & "Superstition" , Adele with Sugarland's performance of Adele's amazing hit "Chasing Pavements" and BFF's Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus' performance of Taylor's song "Fifteen" . Enjoy :)

A Weekend With David Archuleta

Even though it wasn't one on one time with Archie this weekend, he appeared on iCarly for "Crush Night" which he was sooooo adorable on even though he was nervous at the time ,and be sure to tune in to Part Deux next week with Miranda and David ,when he will perform "A Little Too Not Over You". David also sang the best rendition of the National Anthem @ the Pro bowl in Hawaii , since Jordin Sparks at last years Superbowl, many thought he would lipsynch due to the size of the stadium ,but that's not how Archie rolls , Good Job:) now David has a few moments to relax until rehearsals start for his solo Tour beginning February 27th in Virginia.

and he also performed ALTNOY @ The Probowl ,this time accompanied by the backing track.

and Crush on "Crush Night"
